The Mole player ratings: Kangaroos star 'worried the life out of the English'

Reece Walsh, Angus Crichton and Cameron Munster were all superb as Australia downed England 26-6 in the first Ashes Test on Sunday morning (AEDT).

The Kangaroos had too much class for the hosts as they went 1-0 up in the three-Test series at Wembley Stadium.

1. Reece Walsh

A stunning Test debut, running for 236 metres, breaking five tackles, saving two tries and scoring two tries. Rating: 10

2. Mark Nawaqanitawase

Another debutant who shone, running for more than 200 metres on the iconic Wembley turf and having a hand in a try. Rating: 8

3. Kotoni Staggs

Always dangerous with ball in hand with a try assist and line break and more than 100 run metres. Rating: 7

4. Gehamat Shibasaki

Continued his dream season with a fine debut, running with power and purpose out wide against the tackle-shy English backs. Rating: 7.5

5. Josh Addo-Carr

Didn't see much of the football in the red zone but did everything he had to do well. Rating: 6.5

6. Cameron Munster

Worried the life out of the English out wide with his attacking tricks, laying on two tries and running for 120 metres. Rating: 8.5

7. Nathan Cleary

Was content to play second fiddle to Munster when the Kangaroos went hunting, but his five goals from five attempts ensured the winning margin was sizeable. Rating: 7

8. Patrick Carrigan

Took on the job as leader of the pack after Yeo's early departure, making one big bust and defending stoutly. Rating: 8

9. Harry Grant

Crafty around the ruck as always but missed five tackles including the one that led to England's sole try. Rating: 6.5

10. Tino Fa'asuamaleaui

A quiet game by his high standards with just eight runs for 63 metres. Rating: 6

11. Angus Crichton

The pick of the Aussie pack - by a long way. Scored two tries, broke the line twice and clocked up nearly 150 run metres. Rating: 9

12. Hudson Young

Topped the tackle count and ran for more than 100 metres but marred his game with three handling errors. Rating: 7.5

13. Isaah Yeo (c)

A sad day for the skipper, lasting only eight minutes before injury forced him from the field. Rating: 2

14. Tom Dearden

Got 25 minutes after the game was already won and lost, and had little impact. Rating: 5

15. Lindsay Collins

Played nearly half the game off the bench and gave a busy display on and off the ball. Rating: 6

16. Reuben Cotter

Like Collins, lifted the intensity when thrown into the fray with a typically busy display. Rating: 6

17. Keaon Koloamatangi

His size and strength worried the Englishmen in his 27 minutes of game time. Rating: 5.5
