Reynolds makes Hoppa-like play for rival's bum

Powered by

Bulldogs five-eighth Josh Reynolds has raised eyebrows after making a play for Raiders half Aidan Sezer's bum during a scrum.

With half time approaching at Belmore last night and the Dogs behind the 8 ball, Sezer had just fed the scrum when Reynolds stepped forward with an open palm and patted Reynolds from behind.

It's not clear exactly what Reynolds was playing at, whether it was a ploy to distract Sezer or not, but the Raiders half appeared not to notice.

The bizarre moment brought back uncomfortable memories of John Hopoate's infamous 'finger insertion' into the bums of three players during a 2001 Manly vs Cowboys clash.

Reynolds was never far from the action during the Dogs' 22 – 8 loss, scoring the first try and at one point being sent off, only for referee Ashley Klein to send "the wrong Josh", Josh Jackson, off instead.

Jackson was eventually called back.
