Fiery Reynolds fumes at Dogs mate Lichaa

With friends like this who needs enemies.

Michael Lichaa could certainly be excused for thinking that after copping the vitriol of fiery Bulldogs teammate Josh Reynolds during Canterbury's upset loss to the Warriors on Saturday.

With the Bulldogs chasing a late try to snatch victory, Lichaa threw a shocking pass from dummy-half to Reynolds, which the playmaker coughed up to hand New Zealand possession.

The blunder cost Des Hasler's men any real hope of a try and left Reynolds fuming, with the No. 6 throwing the ball at his hooker and mouthing off abuse.

It comes after Reynolds vowed this season to rein in his volatile temper and brain explosions but again underlined the playmaker's lack of control.

While Reynolds can be excused in part for allowing his competitive spirit to overcome his emotions, the incident left commentators perplexed.

And no doubt had Lichaa walking on egg shells in the dressing room following the 24-20 loss in Wellington.
