Canberra's late charge towards the NRL finals has been dealt another major blow with halfback Aidan Sezer suffering a hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old will miss Friday night's clash with Cronulla, with the Raiders already reeling from captain Jarrod Croker being ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Sezer suffered the injury at training on Tuesday and the club has confirmed the 27-year-old will go in for scans to determine the extent of the damage.

The fresh injury throws the Raiders' gameplan into chaos, as Sezer was set to fill the kicking void left by Croker.

Sezer made five of six conversion attempts in Saturday night's victory over North Queensland when Croker was injured early in the match.

Blake Austin will be elevated from the bench to fill Sezer's spot in the halves.

A bench replacement will be named after the Raiders' final training session on Thursday.

On top of the injuries to Sezer and Croker, they are also missing forward Shannon Boyd (calf), Jack Wighton and Joseph Tapine (both suspension).

The Raiders sit ninth on the ladder, two games outside of the top-eight, with seven rounds to play.
