Players in a junior rugby league test between Australia and New Zealand had to be separated by match officials after coming together during the Kiwis’ fiery haka.

Video of the pre-match from Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium shows the junior Kangaroos approach their Kiwi opponents, with the two teams ending up just centimetres from each other as the New Zealand players perform their haka.

Several players go onto clash foreheads and push and shove one another before the two referees step in.

New Zealand won the clash 15-14 after Wests Tigers five-eighth Te Maire Martin slotted a field goal.

Australian fullback Clint Gutherson had a chance to win the game for the Junior Kangaroos with the last play but missed a 40m penalty shot.
