Penrith coach Anthony Griffin facing 'wonderful headache' at the Panthers

Penrith had their work cut out for them after staging an amazing come-from-behind win over Manly but there could be bigger headaches to come for Panthers coach Anthony Griffin with a star player due back from injury.

The Panthers took out the Fuchs’ Performance of the Week after fighting their way back from a 24-6 deficit to continue the Sea Eagles’ miserable season, with the mountain men piling on four tries in the final 13 minutes of the match.

The Panthers will be aiming to continue their winning form when they face Canberra on Sunday but Griffin might have to find a way to squeeze NSW State of Origin prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard back into the team who is due to return from a broken jaw.

“It’s a wonderful headache for Anthony Griffin to have, because Campbell-Gillard an Origin player this year comes back,” Sterling told Wide World of Sports.

“Now, it’s an embarrassment of riches. It may well be that Tyrone May who played off the bench last week might actually be out of the 17.

“It’s possible that Anthony Griffin might look to go with four forwards off the bench to fit everybody in. They might not go with an utility on the bench, especially when they’ve got the likes of a Tyrone Peachey at fullback.”
