Cronulla icon Paul Gallen is reportedly eyeing an end of year fight with Toronto Wolfpack star Darcy Lussick.

Newscorp reports, Gallen's manager Matt Rose has already met with Lussick's agent Wayne Beavis over the potential matchup.

It's not the first time the pair have engaged in talks after Lussick revealed he almost fought Gallen back in 2016, only to be replaced by Junior Paulo through injury.

The former Manly and Parramatta forward eventually debuted in the ring last December in a stunning 39-second TKO victory over NRL great Justin Hodges.

Following the win, Lussick called out former AFL star Barry Hall, but it appears a fight with Gallen has gained more traction.

The move comes after news of a potential superfight between Gallen and UFC great Mark Hunt has begun to wane.

The pair set the Australian fight scene into meltdown last month when talk of a looming big-money boxing clash was confirmed by both camps.

While approaches have been made, neither camp has put pen to paper prompting Gallen to reveal he'd happily pursue a rematch with Hall should talks with Hunt's camp fall through.

But after Hall claimed he was more interested in a fight with cross-code favourite Sonny Bill Williams, Gallen unloaded.

"I can't see that fight selling" Gallen said. "Sonny is all about the money. He won't make anywhere near the money he'll make if he was to fight me.

"We watched the lead up to mine and Barry's fight, he did next to nothing to sell the fight. He's done nothing since he's retired except throw out a derogatory comment on radio.

"I did the last promotion with Danny Green and in the lead up to it, that fight was setup for Barry Hall to win.

"Right from refereeing, to judging, to the way Danny himself commented on the fight. He was a promoter, he's supposed to be neutral. There's no way he was neutral. He wants to take Barry to fight Sonny Bill. It's never been spoken about, I don't think it sells."
