Melbourne Storm youngster Brodie Croft is set to be named in the Emerging Queensland Origin squad today in a clear shot over the bows of Titans star Ash Taylor.

The Maroons will name their best and brightest today, with Croft set to be the bolter.

The 21-year-old from Dalby in Queensland has yet to play representative football but his recognition from the selectors shows he is right in the frame for State of Origin football in coming seasons.

Taylor was seen as the next big thing in recent years but was a little disappointing in a struggling Titans team in 2018.

Croft shone in the World Club Challenge against Leeds this February, earning him a regular berth in the Storm side.

He played in the grand final for the Storm and was solid despite his team’s loss to the Roosters.

Queensland coach Kevin Walters is known to be a big fan of Croft’s style and cool head.
