NRL: Radradra 'walks out' on Eels to play union

The Parramatta Eels have lurched to another disaster with breaking reports suggesting star winger Semi Radradra has walked out on the club.

Radradra, who made his Kangaroos bow earlier this year, has allegedly escaped to Fiji after telling club officials he wants to play rugby union in France.

But according to 9News rugby league expert Danny Weilder, the Eels are not giving up their star player without a fight.

The Eels are proposing a stunning compromise , allowing Radrada, who still has a year on his contract, to play union from August till April but only if he pledges to sign a three-year contract with the Eels on his return.

Parramatta have had a season to forget with the once-flying Eels involved in a season-ending salary cap scandal that forced them to shed a number of high-profile players.

And star playmaker Kieran Foran has battered by a number of incidents with the 25-year-old spending three weeks in a Queensland rehabilitation clinic, been linked to a $75,000 betting splurge and was forced to deal with scandalous rumours centred on his personal life.
