NRL footy tips Round 13: Johns, Fittler and all of Nine's stars give their winners
The Rabbitohs may be sitting equal top of the NRL ladder but Billy Slater expects a minor mid-season slump to set in when they face the Knights on Friday night.
Souths struggled to cope last week without their State of Origin contingent and while Origin hero Dane Gagai, star hooker Damien Cook and lock Cameron Murray are all expected to back up, Slater says Mitchell Pearce will be too hot to handle for a side missing Adam Reynolds due to a leg injury.
"A month ago you would have assured the Rabbitohs would have got the chocolates here," Slater told Wide World of Sports.
"They're getting them at a good time, no Adam Reynolds and I really like what the Knights are doing up there in the Hunter Valley.
"Mitchell Pearce is playing outstanding, so even if Kalyn Ponga doesn't play this game (Ponga hasn't been named) I think the Knights can get them."
