NRL offices evacuated due to a bomb threat

The NRL headquarters in Moore Park in Sydney have been evacuated due to a bomb scare on Friday afternoon, 9News has learned. 

Although the building was cleared, the incident was short-lived, with staff advised shortly after being told to clear the site that they were safe to return to work. 

By 3:30pm AEDT, the site was largely cleared and the many police who been around the building just moments earlier were leaving the scene.

Several police cars descended on the site, which opened as the offices for the administration of the game in Australia in 2012. 

Details are scarce on the precise nature of the evacuation and threat, but are slowly emerging as employees retuen to the office.
