Newcastle Knights player Tautau Moga charged by police for alleged assault

Newcastle's Tautau Moga has reportedly been charged with assault in a Boxing Day incident.

Moga was reportedly charged for common assault on Friday.

"The Newcastle Knights were made aware of an incident involving a player on December 26, 2018," the club said in a statement on Friday afternoon.

"The club alerted the NRL Integrity Unit at an appropriate time and are co-operating with the NSW Police.

"No further comment will be made. "

The 26-year-old NRL journeyman has played with the Roosters, Cowboys, Broncos and Knights.

Moga is set to appear in court in Newcastle on March 21.
