Tyson Gamble unloads on Broncos' coaching, labels Adam Reynolds the real 'mastermind'
Broncos halfback Tyson Gamble has taken a parting shot at coach Kevin Walters, revealing the playing group turn to star playmaker Adam Reynolds for mentoring over him.
Gamble will depart Brisbane at season's end - which could be as soon as this weekend if Brisbane lose their must-win clash with St George Illawarra - after signing a two-year deal with Newcastle.
Speaking on the Marshie's Corner podcast last month, Gamble spoke candidly about the coaching dynamics at the Broncos, claiming his halves partner Reynolds is the real "mastermind" behind Brisbane's attack.

"Kev's the coach but Reyno (Reynolds) is the go-to man for everybody. If you've got a question about the team or footy, you go to him," he said.
"It's not a knock on Kev but Reyno has been around for so long.
"Kevvie really understands footy and he's a good bloke in getting the team up and about but the modern day is so different to the way Kevvie played footy.
"There are some similarities with how you have to be with attitude and stuff, but Reyno is the mastermind around our attack at the moment."
Gamble has only played eight NRL games this season and has not been seen in the arena since round 18, but has been recalled by Walters for the do-or-die round 25 bout at the expense of Ezra Mam.
While Gamble did recognise Walters' enthusiasm and ability to motivate the team, the comments will no doubt be poorly received by the Bronocos, with talks to extend the coach's contract at a standstill.

The Red Hill club must beat the Dragons, and hope the Raiders lose to the Tigers on Sunday, in order to leapfrog Canberra back into the top eight and qualify for finals. Alternatively, if both teams win, the Broncos need to win by 44 points more than the Raiders in order to make the top eight.
Regardless of the 26-year-old's dwindling minutes of play throughout the season, Gamble said he had no personal issues with Walters and his open approach to coaching.

"We have a lot of assistant coaches that take over," he said.
"I'm not saying Kevvie takes a backward step, but he knows what to say and when to say it and when to get involved.
"It has worked well this year. He has allowed us to do what we want to do, but when it's gone too far, he has reigned us back in and said pull your heads in and stick to basics.
"Kevvie has done well considering where we were last year.
"He has got us to be a team again."
