Cameron Smith reveals Melbourne Storm forward Tui Kamikamica 'a lot better now' after after suspected stroke

Melbourne Storm legend Cameron Smith has provided an update on the condition of Tui Kamikamica after he was rushed to hospital following a suspected stroke on Monday.
"I have spoken with Tui, very briefly today," he said on Nine's 100% Footy.
"I sent him a text to make sure he's OK ... he replied back and said he's feeling much better."

Smith also said he'd spoken with Melbourne's general manager of football Frank Ponissi where it was confirmed Kamikamica is "a lot better now" and sitting up in bed.
"But it's a slow and steady path back," he added.

Earlier on Monday, the Storm said the hulking prop is "recovering in hospital".
"He has undergone treatment for a suspected stroke," a club statement read.
"Tui is receiving the best possible care and is being supported by hospital specialists, alongside the club's medical staff."

Kamikamica, 31, is a Fijian national who arrived at Melbourne in 2017 and played two NRL games that year.
He's amassed 142 appearances for the Storm since then, but missed the 2020 grand final when they beat Penrith to win the title.

Kamikamica played all four games this season to date, starting at lock or on the bench in Craig Bellamy's side.
He played off the bench in Saturday night's shock loss to North Queensland, making nine runs in 25 minutes on the field.
The news follows a dire run of injuries for Melbourne.

Fellow forward Eli Katoa was ruled out for the entire season following a nasty head clash while playing for Tonga late last year.
Melbourne have also lost gun winger Xavier Coates to injury long-term.
They next face the in-form Penrith on Friday night.
