The Mole: Manly legend Geoff Toovey's bleak warning for Sea Eagles fans after Anthony Seibold sacking
Manly legend Geoff Toovey has warned fans there is no quick fix despite the club's drastic move to sack coach Anthony Seibold overnight.
One of the Sea Eagles' favourite sons, Toovey knows all about coaching the club - he had the job for more than 100 games from 2012 to 2015 after playing 238 games for Manly.
"It's a tough gig and a big call to sack a coach after three games but it will take a couple of seasons to be a real force again," Toovey told Wide World of Sports.

"The roster needs to be looked at and changes have to be made.
"Then they have to find the right man to take over the coaching job and make the club strong again.
"I feel for the fans and all the people involved.
"We all know it's a results-driven business and coaching is a tough gig."

Toovey still works for the Sea Eagles in junior development and is even being touted as a possible replacement for Seibold.
He had moderate success in his four years at the helm but has been out of top-grade coaching for more than a decade.
"I haven't even thought about it," he said.

"I'm happy doing what I am doing."
Interim coach Kieran Foran, PNG national coach Jason Demetriou and former Eels coach Brad Arthur are front-runners to take on the job in 2027.
Arthur has worked at Manly - ironically as Toovey's assistant - and has achieved good results in England with Leeds.
