Former NSW forward Tevita Pangai Jr has signed with world club champions Hull KR for the remainder of the 2026 season.

It will be Pangai Jr's fourth club since retiring from the NRL to take up a career in boxing, before later returning to the Dolphins for a short stint.

After a dea fell through at the Warrington Wolves before the season started, and spending the earlier months of the year playing Rugby Union in the South of France, LoveRugbyLeague has revealed the NRL star-turned-boxer has joined Willie Peters' squad.

He played 23 games for the Catalans Dragons in their 2025 campaign before negotiations for the Wolves began, where he later pulled out.

The move could have a domino effect on the club's squad, with Rovers understood to be close to the salary cap.

Hull KR recently secured Peta Hiku on a deal for 2027, while the likes Mikey Lewis, Elliot Minchella and Jez Litten are tied down long-term.

His first clash will be an interesting one against Sam Burgess' Wolves, the team he pulled the pin on during negotiations.

The two rival clubs will have the clash marked in the calendar after Pangai Junior publicly stated his desire to play under Burgess before opting out of the deal.
