Eels star Zac Lomax is set for a stint on the sidelines just days removed from his golden-point heroics against the Dragons.

The 25-year-old nailed a field goal in extra-time to sink his former club in emotional scenes at CommBank Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

However, scans have since revealed Lomax has suffered a fracture in his foot, with Parramatta confirming the news on Wednesday.

The goal-kicking winger is expected to miss at least six weeks - also putting his Blues availability for State of Origin in doubt.

NSW coach Laurie Daley had already pencilled Lomax in for a wing spot in the series opener and he will now be racing the clock to be fit

Lomax posted a series of photos from Parramatta's round five win to his Instagram account on Tuesday night, accompanied by the caption "BRB Fam".

It's another major blow for the Eels, who are already without captain Mitchell Moses and forward Jack Williams until round nine.

Moses and Lomax are the among the club's two best players.
