'Never should have said that': Terrell May apologises to NSW Blues over live-stream gaffe

Terrell May has apologised over his live-stream gaffe prior to the NSW Blues squad being announced and has vowed to "earn their trust" moving forward.
The in-form Wests Tigers star was seen as a genuine chance of earning a spot in the team for the State of Origin opener, but was ultimately overlooked by Laurie Daley.
Before the side was formally announced, reports had already started to filter through that May wasn't going to make it, which prompted a bizarre online reaction.

The 26-year-old joked on a Twitch stream that his friend should 'chuck the jersey in the bin' and even floated changing his allegiance.
It prompted a fierce response from former Blues coach Brad Fittler, who labelled the comments from the front-rower as "pathetic" during Nine's Sunday Footy Show.

Daley has since gone on record to claim May's comments had no bearing on his non-selection, but that didn't stop the Samoan international from apologising anyway.
"When all those reports came out, there were so many comments saying 'I can't believe you didn't make it' ... I got a bit frustrated," he told Nathan's Lawns and Gardens.
"I never should have said that. That's on me. Obviously I was joking, but no one really knows me personally, so I shouldn't assume people are gonna know me.

"I wish I could take that back, but I can't. At the end of the day, that's on me.
"Now I gotta live with it. I'm just gonna keep grinding to earn their trust."
May was released by the Sydney Roosters for reasons still unknown, with continued speculation about why the glamour club moved him on months after re-signing him.
The prop has played 64 games since making his debut with the Chooks in 2022.
Max King was selected to make his debut for the Blues in next week's opener, with Payne Haas, Mitch Barnett and Spencer Leniu the other front-row options.
