Sea Eagles on the verge of landing $1.2 million replacement for Daly Cherry-Evans

Manly's search for a halfback to replace Daly Cherry-Evans may already be over, with Raiders star Jamal Fogarty on the verge of signing a two-year deal with the club.
As first reported by 9News Sydney's Michael Chammas last month, the Sea Eagles had been interested in luring the Canberra playmaker since late-2024.
Fogarty has a $650,000 mutual option in his contract for next year to remain in the nation's capital, but appears unlikely to remain with the Raiders.

Now, according to Nine's Danny Weidler, it looks as though Canberra have made peace with the 31-year-old's decision and expect him to join Manly in 2026.
"Raiders are of the belief that Jamal Fogarty will take a two year offer to join Manly," he wrote via X. "The deal is worth around $1.2m all up.
"Raiders can't go to two years and only have good things to say about Fogarty."
Fogarty is entering his prime years and has started the season well for the Raiders, but the club already have youngsters Ethan Strange and Ethan Sanders signed long-term.

Strange has partnered Fogarty since his arrival at the Green Machine last year, while the highly-touted Sanders moved from Parramatta in the off-season.

Ricky Stuart will reportedly fly to Queensland after the side's round five game to discuss Fogarty's future with player agent Chris Orr.
At this stage, neither the Sea Eagles or Raiders have confirmed the reports.
