Wests Tigers star Jarome Luai has been cleared of serious injury after undergoing scans.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the superstar recruit remains on ice but should be fit for the club's first trial against the Bulldogs despite a quad injury.

Scans over the weekend came back with positive news for the Tigers, who are looking to move off the bottom of the ladder under head coach Benji Marshall.

Luai was part of the Tigers' army camp in Queensland last week, impressing the coaching staff and pushing him into a key leadership role.

The 28-year-old will co-captain the joint venture alongside former Panthers teammate Api Koroisau, despite not yet having played a game in Tigers colours.

After winning four-straight premierships with Penrith, his move to the three-time wooden spooners is one of the biggest stories heading into 2025.

Luai is expected to partner young gun Lachlan Galvin in the halves for the side's first game against the Knights on March 7.
