'He likes getting a tan': Harry Grant's cheeky swipe at Craig Bellamy amid Titans rumours

Harry Grant has given the best indication yet that he will re-sign with the Storm, while also taking a cheeky swipe at coach Craig Bellamy amid rumours around his future.
The star hooker and captain remains unsigned beyond 2026 as it stands, with the crucial November 1 date fast approaching that could see him hit the open market.
However, in an interview with Nine's Danny Weidler ahead of the first game of the Ashes series this weekend, Grant seemed keen to stay put in Melbourne long-term.

"Nah, it's pretty good down there," he told 9News Sydney.

"I know what I'm getting out of myself at the Storm, I love the club and all the people involved. We'll see how things play out over the next couple of weeks."
Grant is on a deal worth an estimated $850,000 with the powerhouse club and it's hard to see a world where he doesn't earn an upgrade, given his standing as the game's best dummy-half and one of the elite players in the entire competition.
While his future at the Storm is expected to be secured in the coming weeks, the same can't be said for legendary coach Bellamy.
The 66-year-old has been linked with a potential move to the Gold Coast once his deal expires, either as the head coach or in an advisory role to Josh Hannay.

Grant was asked whether Bellamy had spoken to the senior players at Melbourne and the skipper gave a tongue-in-cheek response.
"Nah, he hasn't," Grant said.
"He would probably like the sunshine, he likes sitting outside in his budgie smugglers and getting a tan, the old silver fox."
Bellamy has spent more than two decades in charge at the Storm, guiding the club to premierships in 2012, 2017 and 2020.

While there's plenty happening back home at the club, Grant's immediate focus centres around the first Test against old rivals England on Sunday morning (AEDT).
A raucous crowd is expected at Wembley Stadium and the champion No.9 is more than ready for the challenge and showcase the Kangaroos on the world stage.
"For me, this is what it's about - being able to take the game elsewhere and give the guys an opportunity to travel and play footy outside of Australia," Grant said.
"We have so many games in Australia throughout the year, so let's take it worldwide."
