Rabbitohs star Campbell Graham dealt 'bad' fresh injury blow in mishap at training

Campbell Graham's horror run has continued, with the Rabbitohs star sent for scans after suffering a hand injury at training.

The 25-year-old, who missed the entirety of last season with a serious sternum injury, has been on the road to recovery in a bid to play in the season opener.

Unfortunately, those hopes may have been dashed during pre-season.

News first broke from Wide World of Sports' The Mole on Wednesday morning that the Kangaroos centre had gone down with a "bad" hand injury and could be set for another stint on the sidelines.

South Sydney have since confirmed the news in a club statement, with Graham's return pending the results of his X-rays.

"Rabbitohs centre Campbell Graham has sustained a hand injury at training this week," the statement read.

"He has gone for scans on his hand and will see a specialist this week to determine a course of action for rehabilitation of the injury.

"The Rabbitohs will update members and supporters once more information is known."

Prior to his lengthy layoff, Graham was in the mix for a State of Origin debut with NSW and was regarded as one of the game's elite outside backs.

Should he be unavailable to start the season, Isaiah Tass looms as the likely replacement.
