'Leadership will be invaluable': Dragons overhaul continues as club legend Ben Creagh lands new role

Dragons legend Ben Creagh has landed a new role as the club continues to overhaul the front office after a tough patch on and off the field.

Creagh - who sits behind only Ben Hornby for most games in the Red V - has held a position on the St George Illawarra board in recent years.

However, the former captain and 2010 premiership winner will relinquish that position and headline a new-look executive team as chief operating officer.

It comes just months after the Dragons appointed Tim Watsford as chief executive, while also adding Daniel Anderson as head of recruitment.

"Ben is one of the club's greats, our second most-capped player, a premiership winner, former captain and life member," Watsford said in a statement.

"His deep passion for the Dragons, football credentials, and his leadership experience will be invaluable in ensuring continuous improvement across all areas of football and club operations."

On top of Creagh's appointment, which will involve overseeing the club's football operations and managing the soon-to-be-built centre of excellence in Wollongong, the joint venture has also made several other key appointments.

Ryan Deluca joins the Dragons as chief financial officer, Sam Attrill as chief revenue officer, Daniela Armone has been promoted to chief of staff, and Adam Hodge will begin a role as chief customer officer.

"This marks the beginning of our commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable success across every facet of the club's operations," Watsford said.

"With a refreshed executive team, our men's and women's coaching staff, together with recruitment personnel locked in, I'm confident we have the right people in the right roles to drive success for the Red V."
