'I can't wait': In-demand prop Terrell May joins Wests Tigers on $2 million deal after shock Roosters call

Terrell May has agreed to join Wests Tigers for the next three years after being released from his contract with the Sydney Roosters.
The Tigers on Monday afternoon confirmed a report in The Sydney Morning Herald which said May had knocked back the Dragons in their pursuit of the Samoan international.
May was told last month by Roosters officials that he was free to leave the club, despite having only signed a two-year extension reportedly worth $950,000 in April.

The 25-year-old is reportedly set to earn about $2 million across his three years at the Tigers.
"I'm really excited about this opportunity, and I can't wait to get stuck into pre-season," May said in a Tigers statement.
"This is a club with a very bright future, and I want to be a big part of that future.
"I know quite a few of the boys really well and they all speak fondly of the club and its people."

Tigers coach Benji Marshall described May as a "good person first and foremost".
"He's coming off an impressive season, and at just 25, his best years are ahead of him.
"I look forward to welcoming Terrell and his family to our club."
May has emerged as one of the game's best props over the past 18 months and looms as a likely selection for the NSW Blues in the coming years.
May's arrival at the Tigers comes after the joint-venture club lost its own young enforcer, Stefano Utoikamanu, when a lengthy and public contract saga saw the prop join Melbourne.
May made his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2022 and played 53 games for the club.
Among the recruits the Tigers have welcomed in the off-season are Jarome Luai, Sunia Turuva, Jack Bird, Royce Hunt and May.
"Terrell is not only a talented footballer, but also a good person, and we would like to thank him for his contribution to the club," said Roosters head of recruitment Daniel Anderson in a statement on Monday.
"Terrell will always remain part of our Sydney Roosters family, and he leaves with our very best wishes for the future."
