NRL kick-offs to remain the same in 2025 after six-hour meeting
The kick-off is here to stay in the NRL, despite pushes for a rule change in 2025.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the game's decon-makers held a six-hour meeting with club bosses to discuss a range of topics.
Among those was the future of the sport's most brutal collision, where NRL head of football Graham Annesley assured the 17 clubs there would be no changes to kick-offs.

After incidents that saw Moses Suli and Lindsay Collins knocked out in games from the opening play of the game, question marks were raised ahead of next season.

Despite some reports at the end of the season indicating an alteration was imminent, the NRL has insisted there was never any thought given to banning or modifying kick-offs.
The decision was welcomed by the clubs, with the Herald reporting there were concerns over 'tinkering with the fabric of the game' well over a century after its inception.
Dragons wrecking ball Suli was concussed after a legal collision against the Roosters on Anzac Day, while Collins was hit in a high tackle in a prelim final against Melbourne.
The man at the centre of the incident, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, copped a lengthy ban for the high shot that left the Roosters front-rower concussed.
