NRL out to avoid 'public relations disasters' as Las Vegas plan revealed
The NRL is planning to house four teams about three kilometres away from the Las Vegas centre during next year's American venture.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the governing body is poised to strike a deal with Resorts World, which opened in 2021 and features three separate hotels, as well as an 11,000-square-metre casino, within the massive complex.
The report states a major reason for the decision is so the NRL can avoid "public relations disasters involving player misbehaviour".

If players want to go out to famous establishments along Las Vegas Boulevard they will have to travel significantly further than if the NRL put them in accommodation such as the Bellagio Hotel or the Park MGM.

The Broncos, Roosters, Sea Eagles, and Rabbitohs will head to America's famed sin city to open the NRL season with a double header at Allegiant Stadium on March 3.
NRL and club officials are expected to fly to Las Vegas next month to scout accommodation sites and plan the trip.

Other reasons for camping the players outside the main city include cost, with the Resorts World idea said to cost potentially millions less than staying in the centre of Las Vegas.
The NRL reportedly also believes transport and player safety will be easier to control if staying three kilometres outside the centre.
