Andrew McCullough calls time on NRL career, tells Dragons teammates he is retiring
St George Illawarra veteran Andrew McCullough has called time on his NRL career.
McCullough told Dragons teammates on Thursday he will walk away with a year remaining on his contract, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The 32-year-old played 309 games in the NRL, becoming the 44th player to reach the triple century milestone.

The majority of those came with Brisbane, where he made his debut in 2008.
McCullough spent season 2020 at Newcastle - albeit spending most of that campaign injured - before joining the Dragons in 2021.

He retires having never won an NRL premiership. The closest he came was in 2015 when the Broncos lost the grand final to North Queensland.
McCullough also played four State of Origin games for Queensland, earning a late Maroons debut in 2018.
His retirement is expected to open the door for Dragons junior Jayden Sullivan to spend more time in the NRL team at hooker in season 2023.
Sullivan had been trying to leave St George Illawarra but has reportedly told the club he will now stay.
