Knights senior players and officials have barred the team from attending ‘hot spots’ around Newcastle following an incident last weekend.

The incident is the latest in a series of situations in which players claim they have been targeted by members of the public while out on the town.

The NRL Integrity Unit has been informed about the incident.

“The Knights are aware of a low level incicent involving Mason Lino over the weekend,”  Phil Gardner CEO said.

“This has prompted the Knights to review and work collaboratively with the playing group to identify methods to best prepare for the remainder of the season including the avoidance of venues with previous issues.

“The club is also working with the players to ensure they meet club and community standards.”
