Melbourne fullback Cameron Munster has been cleared of any structural damage to his elbow and will be right to play when the Storm resume their NRL campaign.

The 21-year-old hyper-extended his elbow in the 44th minute of the Storm's win over Parramatta on Monday night.

Melbourne football manager Frank Ponissi said on Tuesday that scans showed Munster had suffered a "mild sprain".

"Just got the text from our physio that he's just had an MRI this morning and it's good news," Ponissi told SEN radio.

Ponissi said it was fortuitous the team had a bye this weekend, allowing Munster to rest up without having to sit out a game.

"It would have been touch-and-go had we played this weekend, but the physio expects him to play against Penrith on Saturday week," Ponissi said.

The Storm beat the Eels 18-6 on Monday for their fifth consecutive win.
