League officials apologise after GF porn retweet

The New South Rugby League has been forced to apologise after a sexually explicit photo from a pornography account was retweeted on its Twitter account during the NRL Grand Final.

The tweet was posted picked up by the NSWRL's 51,000 followers after being posted about 9pm during North Queensland's gripping 17-16 premiership win over Brisbane.It was deleted within a minute, a NSWRL spokesperson told Fairfax Media.

The NSWRL immediately posted an aology to fans.

The NSW governing body said they were investigating the tweet, originally from porn site Pornhub, and had contacted Twitter to discover whether the account had been hacked.

"It's something that we really didn't want to see on our feed and it's not something we've done, so we're investigating," a NSWRLspokesperson said told Fairfax media.
