Johnson overwhelmed by waterboy offers

NRL superstar Shaun Johnson didn't realise how many requests he would get when he offered his services to be a waterboy on his day off.

The Warriors don't play the Melbourne until Monday night and this week Johnson took to his Facebook page offering to run water for any Auckland-based team that wanted his services on Saturday.

By Tuesday he had more than 1500 responses, mainly from junior teams, wanting him to run water for their side.

He was overwhelmed by the requests.

"Awesome seeing all the pics of all the teams, didn't expect there to be so many keen to have me ... This waterboy's getting excited," said Johnson on Facebook.

He will choose a winner on Thursday.

Johnson, 25, will soon appear on evening television, recently recording a guest appearance spot on the local soap opera Shortland Street.
