The Mole: Tyrone Peachey-Titans hits rock bottom, Trbojevic tension at Manly

The relationship between the struggling Titans and disgruntled star Tyrone Peachey has hit rock bottom.

Peachey has told his teammates he wants out and was desperate to quit the club before the June 30 transfer deadline last Sunday - but couldn’t find a taker.

The former Blues State of Origin star pulled out of last weekend’s loss to Manly with what officials are telling me was a ‘minor’ injury and the club is fuming with his attitude.

The Titans are certain to cut Peachey loose at season’s end but the talented utility can expect to have to swallow a pay cut, with his former club Penrith his most likely destination.

MANLY TESTING TRBOJEVICS' PATIENCE

Those close to the Trbojevic brothers are telling me that the loyalty factor is starting to wear a little thin at Manly.

When news first broke that the Bulldogs are set to throw massive money at the Blues Origin stars, there was a collective ‘no way will they ever leave Manly’ school of thought from the northern beaches.

But the Bulldogs continue to sweeten the pot and are quoting figures that the Sea Eagles simply can’t match.

The boys’ manager, Paul Sutton, is salivating - and who could blame him.

The duo could give the Bulldogs a quick fix, and set themselves up for life in the process.

They are not gone yet, but Manly will need to substantially increase their offer to keep the pair.

EELS SWIPE TOP YOUNG PROP

The Eels have signed one of the best young props in Queensland in young giant Isaiah Vailalo.

A product of Ignatius Park College in Townsville, Vailalo shone for the school in this year’s Aaron Payne Cup and played for Queensland under 16s last year.

The 17-year-old prop has plenty of skill for a big lad and was in the sights of half a dozen Sydney clubs.

Ignatius Park has a proud league history. Four of their old boys - Coen Hess, Corey Jensen, Michael Morgan and Kyle Feldt - were members of the Cowboys’ premiership-winning 2015 squad.

RAPANA COSTS HIMSELF A BUNDLE

Signing contracts can be all about timing, as Raiders winger Jordan Rapana has learned this season.

Rapana is one of the game’s better finishers and was offered around $500,000 to remain at Canberra a couple of months back - pretty fair money for a winger.

But Rapana opted to knock the money back and test the market … and has come up empty.

What’s worse, the Raiders have allocated the money elsewhere - so Rapana will either have to take a pay cut or leave the Raiders.

The daughter of former Souths coach Arthur Kitinas has entered the Miss World Australia contest hoping to raise money for sick children.

Kitinas was a handy hooker for Easts and Souths in the 1980s before going on to coach the Rabbitohs for a brief period.

Now his daughter Ali has entered the prestigious contest in a bid to help Variety The Children's Charity bring in much needed funds.
