English rugby league player stages amazing recovery once fight begins

English rugby league player Danny Yates staged one of the most dramatic recoveries seen on a sporting field once he realised there was a fight he could get involved in.

Playing for the Rochdale Hornets in a match against Oldham, Yates looked to be down for count after copping an accidental forearm to the head from one of his own team-mates.

As Yates was on the ground receiving attention things got out of hand around him. A couple of minor scuffles broke out, and all of a sudden Yates was feeling a lot better.

So good in fact that he was able to spring to his feet and join in the melee.

The match commentators rather enjoyed Yates’ theatrics.

‘’You little kidder,’’ one remarked. ‘’You’ve been found out Mr Yates,’’ chortled the other.

So, the next time someone says soccer players have a mortgage on feigning injury when it suits them, don’t forget the day Danny Yates turned in an Oscars-worth performance.
