Dragons ramp up bid to lock in Jack Bird as Eels, Dolphins circle
The Dragons have ramped up their bid to lock in versatile utility-forward Jack Bird.
Bird, who joined the Dragons in 2021 following an injury-ravaged stint with the Broncos, has been tabled a two-year, $1.1 million deal to remain with the club until the end of 2024 according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

The 26-year-old comes off contract at the end of this season.
The Dragons' offer comes after Bird's manager informed rival clubs of his client's intentions to sign a deal worth closer to $2 million for at least three seasons.
The report also states that Bird recently met with the Parramatta Eels, who have also offered a two-year deal.

While the Dragons are understood to be hopeful of keeping Bird, a versatile player for any coach with his ability to play as a back-rower and an outside back, they will also have to fight off interest from the Dolphins.
The Dolphins have also expressed interest in luring Bird back to Queensland, but the report by the SMH suggests his preference is to remain in New South Wales.
After playing just 17 games across two seasons at the Broncos, Bird remained on the park last year for the Dragons and suited up on 22 occasions.
Bird scored a try during the Dragons' Round 1 win against the Warriors yesterday.
