Crowe recruits Becker as Souths fan
The South Sydney Rabbitohs burgeoning celebrity fan base has claimed another big name thanks to the charm offensive of team owner Russell Crowe.
It seems that the Crowe’s latest recruit is German tennis great Boris Becker, who was spotted watching Tottenham face Liverpool in the English Premier League wearing a Rabbitohs cap.
In a match broadcast to millions around the world, the cameras found Becker wearing a gold trim 2014 premiers hat at White Hart Lane as he watched compatriot Jurgen Klopp’s first game as Reds manager.
The commentators mentioned that Becker, who has coached Novak Djokovic in recent years, is a Bayern Munich supporter, the arch-rivals of Klopp’s former team, Borussia Dortmund.
Crowe has turned dozens of celebrities into Souths fans over the years including Snoop Dogg, Oprah Winfrey, Christian Bale and even football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
