Cronulla Sharks in danger of losing a major player in salary cap fallout
The Cronulla Sharks have already lost their coach Shane Flanagan over the salary cap breaches, and the penalties are set to continue.
According to Nine News reporter Danny Weidler, the Sharks are in danger of potentially losing a player due to the breach.
"The salary cap investigation is ongoing and the early indications are the penalties from that could them a serious player," Weidler told Nine News.
"Also the CEO Barry Russell, there's increasing speculation that he doesn't want to hang around at the club for the long term."

Despite the shocking revelation that the Sharks could be set to lose a player, Weidler did confirm that Flanagan's assistant John Morris is likely to be named the coach.
Weidler also mentioned that Morris is well-liked by the veteran playing group, a factor that likely worked in his favour in the recruiting process.
"The good thing for the Sharks is that the playing group really likes Morris," he said.
"He's been coaching them at a camp during the week and they've been very impressed.
"That's quite an achievement given the huge personalities at the Cronulla Sharks camp. They think he's got what it takes."
