Canberra fans have come out in force and put on a huge viking clap at the NRL grand final, with league legend Mal Meninga chiming in.

The NRL approved the Raiders' pre-game ritual to be performed at ANZ Stadium before the grand final on Sunday and Meninga did his best blowing the horn.

Raiders fans are famous for creating a tough atmosphere down in Canberra and it seems like plenty of supporters have made the treck down to Sydney for the most important match of the year

There were calls before the grand final for supporters of both clubs to join forces before the game with the clap.

"I really hope the Roosters fans jump on board and they're all doing the Viking clap because all I hear from Victoria is the AFL grand final and how wonderful it is," Raiders assistant Brett White said.

"How good would it be to sit back in 10 years time and tell your kids about the day the Viking clap came to ANZ, it's an exciting thought."
