Cronulla Sharks star Bronson Xerri has returned a negative test for coronavirus.
The Sharks released a statement confirming Xerri was cleared of having coronavirus, which is good news for the NRL as the league feels the pressure to halt the 2020 season in line with other world sports.

"Sharks player Bronson Xerri has been given the all-clear after tests for COVID-19 returned a negative result," the statement read.
"After presenting with flu-like symptoms on Thursday, in following full precautionary measures Xerri underwent the COVID-19 test in accordance with NRL and health authority protocols.
"No other Sharks player has been tested for the virus."
