Adam Reynolds addresses 'out of line' Tyson Gamble comments about coach Kevin Walters

Adam Reynolds has conceded Tyson Gamble's comments regarding the power structure at the Brisbane Broncos were "a bit out of line" but said his halves partner would never intentionally try to damage his coach Kevin Walters' reputation.

"I rang Tyson to try and clear some of the air there, and he was apologetic towards Kevin, he admits he got the words wrong," the halfback said on Triple M.

"Knowing Tyson, he wouldn't have gone out deliberately to hurt the coach or anything like that.

"He knew straight away that he'd stuffed up."

Gamble appeared on the Marshie's Corner podcast, where he credited the veteran presence of Reynolds as the \.

"Kevvie really understands footy and he's a good bloke in getting the team up and about but the modern day is so different to the way Kevvie played footy," he said.

"There are some similarities with how you have to be with attitude and stuff, but Reyno is the mastermind around our attack at the moment."

The comments spread like wildfire around social media in the past day, with Reynolds having to pour cold water on the ordeal - while Gamble also called Walters to apologise.

"I've got a lot of respect for Kevvie, he's made my job and my role at the club a lot easier," Reynolds said.

"Everything that I drip through to the playing group is through Kev so those comments are sort of a bit out of line, but going back and speaking to Tyson, he's deeply apologetic towards those words and he said he got it wrong."

Reynolds said Gamble, who will join the Knights next year, is likely to still play in the final round of the regular season.

Brisbane's season has fallen off a cliff in the past month, and internal fighting is the last thing it needs going into Saturday's must-win clash.

The Broncos must come to Sydney and beat the Dragons, and then hope Wests Tigers defeat Canberra at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday, to sneak into eighth spot.
