Boyd 'caused $1500 damage to hotel'
Newcastle and Queensland star Darius Boyd could face a club investigation following reports he left a luxury hotel room with $1500 worth of damage last week.
Staff at an exclusive spa resort at The Vintage in the Hunter Valley allegedly found a smashed television, broken glass and a hole in one of the walls after he checked out last Thursday morning.
It’s believed he’d been staying with his wife Kayla.
Chateau Elan’s General Manager Joe Spagnolo told The Daily Telegraph Boyd had since phoned to apologise.
“He rang me after they had left and apologised and offered to pay for the damage that had been done,” Spagnolo said.
Knights CEO Matt Gidley said he wasn’t aware of the incident but if an official complaint was to be lodged, there would be an investigation.
