The NRLW has been green lit to return in 2020 by the ARL Commission.

There was uncertainty around the future of the competition in the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic - and its associated financial impact - which prompted fears the rise of the women's game could be in jeopardy.

The four-team competition will begin in September and the grand final will be played on the same date as the NRL decide, October 25. Women's State of Origin has also been confirmed for November 13 as a standalone event.

"The women's game is a very important element of rugby league," ARLC Chairman Peter V'landys said.

"We are very proud of our achievements in the women's game and we should be providing it the significance it deserves.

"I want to thank the clubs for their commitment to women's sport and the players themselves for their understanding as we worked through this process."
