No serious injuries after ski crash

Several athletes suffered crashes at the Alpine Skiing World Championships on Wednesday but organisers in St Moritz said that none had been seriously injured.

Monaco racer Olivier Jenot suffered internal bleeding after mistiming a jump in the men's Super-G, according to race doctor Marcus Deplazes, but is stable in hospital after being airlifted from the course.

Croatia's Max Ullrich and Slovakia's Adam Zampa escaped with bruises while American Thomas Biesemeyer dislocated a shoulder.

Earlier, in women's downhill training, Austrian racer Mirjam Puchner was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital, where she was diagnosed with a broken leg.
