No rap for rapper's pitch

He might be an ace at throwing out lyrics but when it comes to throwing a baseball US rapper 50 Cent proved a true dunce.

The Queens rapper was invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch at a New York Mets-Pittsburgh Pirates clash in New York.

But as this video shows, 50 Cent's hapless effort could go down as one of the worst pitches ever.

Like a baseball version of former Prime Minister John Howard's famous legspin shocker, the left-handed rapper launched the ball metres wide of Mets catcher Anthony Recker and almost into a television cameraman.

Maybe he’s actually righty?

Later on, 50 said the bad pitch was actually the work of his alter ego — birth name Curtis Jackson.

“50 Cent is the best,” he said in a TV interview during the fourth inning. “Curtis Jackson, I don’t know what’s the matter with him.”
