NFL star gives heartbroken fan a boost after trade

NFL star Jimmy Graham has given his biggest fan a much needed lift, inviting her to a match after seeing a video of her sobbing following news of his move away from the Saints.

Lexia Woods, aged seven, became an online hit last week after her mother posted a heartbreaking video to YouTube of her reaction to the news that her favourite player was being traded to the Seattle Seahawks.

“Wherever Jim Graham goes, I go. No matter what team,” Woods says in the video.

“It’s just not smart of them to let Jim Graham over there. He’s a really good player and I like him and I want him to stay at the Saints,” the tearful seven-year-old continues.

After messaging the Woods family on Facebook and offering them tickets to his first game with the Seahawks, Graham thanked the adorable seven-year-old for her support on ESPN’s SportsCenter.

“We can experience our first game together,” Graham told the seven-year-old.

“You know, that was one of the biggest moments of my life and you made it that much more special to know that someone cares about me that much,” the tight end added.

If only all sports stars would do the same for us when they rip our hearts out by moving clubs.
