Magpies lose shooter for netball season

Collingwood's Cody Lange will miss the remainder of the Super Netball season with scans confirming a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee.

The unlucky Lange was injured during a training session on Monday night.

It's her second ACL injury, having undergone a reconstruction to her right knee in 2016 when she was playing for the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the now-defunct ANZ Championship.

The talented goal attack partnered with Caitlin Thwaites in the second half of Saturday's win against the Swifts, shooting nine goals.

Magpies Netball head coach Kristy Keppich-Birrell said the club felt for Lange.

"Both the playing group and coaches are shattered for Cody who has flourished since arriving at the club having only recently returned from her previous knee injury," Keppich-Birrell said.

"We watched Cody work tirelessly over the past six months to get back to full fitness and the commitment and professionalism she showed during that time gives us every confidence that she will again make a successful return to the court."

The Magpies currently sit fourth on the Super Netball ladder and next face the Fever in Perth on Saturday with two rounds remaining before finals.
