NASCAR fan risks his life to get closer to the action

Here’s the definition of stupid.

This NASCAR fan put it all on the line just to get that little bit closer to the action when he climbed a fence used to shield crash debris from the crowd.

The nutter wanted so badly to get a bird’s-eye view while the cars powered around Greenwood’s Dover International Speedway he scaled the high fence designed to stop cars from flipping into the crowd.

The man’s name is John Infanti and he was charged Dover police with trespassing and offensive conduct.

The images show Infanti clinging to the top of the metal fence that arches over the track. At one stage he appears to be inches away from falling onto the circular track as 39 cars speed past for the AAA Drive for Autism race.

This NASCAR fan went too far to get a closer view of the action.

Staff at the track eventually convinced Infanti to come down and he was swiftly handed over to police.
