Supercars rookie Jaxon Evans escapes serious injury after 'monstrous' crash during qualifying in Adelaide
Brad Jones Racing driver Jaxon Evans has escaped serious injury following a horror high-speed crash that brought a premature end to qualifying for the Supercars series' final race in Adelaide.
The rookie looked visibly shaken by the incident which saw him lose control of his Camaro during Sunday's qualifying for race 24 after hitting an inside barrier at Turn 8 of the Adelaide street circuit.
The momentum from the collision sent Evans sharpshooting off the walls before eventually coming to a stop.

The crash was eerily similar to the incident during qualifying for race 23 on Friday afternoon that saw Penrite's Richie Stanaway ruled out for the remainder of the weekend with a concussion.
Evans will also sit out the final race with concussion symptoms after his condition deteriorated, Brad Jones Racing confirmed.
Supercars great Mark Skaife was stunned as Evans became the fourth driver to find trouble at Turn 8 during the even.
"That is absolutely one of the biggest shunts we have seen here," he said in commentary for Fox Motorsport.
"From those forces ... obviously he was winded.
"Couldn't get out of the car for a little while.
"If you had to compare it to any of the previous incidents, that was almost a direct replica of the Stanaway one.
"That is just a monstrous shunt."
This was echoed by fellow commentator and ex-driver Garth Tander who did not believe the Albury-based squad would be able to rebuild the car in time for the championship finale.
"You go into this moment of disbelief ... you get obviously dazed and confused," he said.

"[You're thinking] 'What just happened? Oh my god, I've just had a very big crash.'
"That thing will definitely not run today and might not run again."
Forcing out the red flag, the crash marked a disappointing end to Evans' Adelaide 500 campaign after he took part in his first top-10 shootout on Saturday.
Evans was unharmed in the incident — though a little shocked.
"I'm obviously feeling a little bit shaken up after that. [It's] never nice to be the one that ends up in the fence, especially here at Turn 8," he told Fox Motorsport afterwards.
"Thankfully I'm OK. Little bit winded, but otherwise happy to walk away from that one.
"We were putting everything on the line.

"I just caught the inside fence which put me into the outside fence ... From there on you're a passenger.
"Just felt like I was ping-ponging off the walls."
Team boss Brad Jones said his crew was up for the task of getting Evans' Camaro back on track in time for race 24 at 3:45pm AEDT.
"[It's] just unfortunate he's clipped that inside kerb," he said.
"It's put him in the outside wall pretty hard.
"That front hit was really hard ... I think time will be totally against us.
"My guys are always up for the challenge."
With Evans' crash forcing an early end to qualifying, Red Bull Racing's Broc Feeney sits in provisional pole ahead of Cam Waters.
