New Zealand's Richie Stanaway will drive in the Supercars championship for the second consecutive year after being confirmed as the endurance partner for Ford's Cameron Waters.

Stanaway, a multiple Formula Ford New Zealand champion and former German Formula Three title winner, debuted in the Australian championship as co-driver for compatriot Chris Pither in last year's endurance events.

The 25-year-old helped Pither finish 12th in last year's Bathurst 1000, a race where 22-year-old Waters finished fourth.

"Cam finished a strong P4 at Bathurst last year and drove a great race, so the plan is to go better this year and stand on the podium at The Mountain," Stanaway said.

"Supercars are an amazing piece of machinery and I can't wait to get back behind the wheel with one of the up and coming stars of the sport."

Waters will begin his second full-time Supercars championship campaign this weekend at the Clipsal 500 event in Adelaide.
