Rally driver's embarrassing crash

Steve Gee

Powered by

A rally driver was left red-faced after rolling his car off the side of a road when he slowed down and tried to avoid another crashed car during an event in Taiwan.

Reacting to a group of spectators who waved him to slow down after a rival had come unstuck on a bend, the driver hit the brakes and did his best to manoeuvre away from the stricken competitor.

But while he successfully managed to miss the other veicle, his car clipped a low wall as he negotiated the left turn, sending it into a fishtail, before tumbling down a two metre drop off the road.

The crash was captured on video by spectators, while a dash cam inside the car gives viewers a birds-eye view of the slow-mo roll, which left the vehicle perched on its roof in a field.

Race fans immediately rushed to the aid of the driver and his navigator, who they helped pull from the car, with both appearing to escape unscathed.

Unfortunately that's where the race ended for the pair in an embarrassing conclusion to their campaign.
