Porsche drivers get up close and personal

When it comes to motorsport fender benders are almost as common as pit stops.

But a recent crash in Spain takes the cake after a Porsche driver finished with his car perched on the roof of a rival.

Competing at the GT Tour's Navarra race, Frenchman Joffrey De Narda was spun 180 degrees after getting clipped by another car as he tried to negotiate a right bend among a logjam of competitors.

But before he had time to react and correct his path, compatriot Jules Gounon’s Porsche was shunted toward his car, with Gounon's vehicle launched into the air and driving straight onto his roof.

In one of the strangest ever accidents, Gounon's car finished balancing on top of De Narda's with the rear wheels still spinning as the rest of the field continued on.

Talk about getting up close and personal.
